"And Now a Word from Their Cool College Sponsors" By: Kate Zernike

In this article "And Now a Word From Their Cool College Sponsor" By: Kate Zernike she goes on to explain how two young college students become successful from being sponsored. These two young men are being paid to walk around their campus and bascially sell their sponsors product. While getting paid. She believes that a youth marketing a product has a better chance on selling the product then any other ordinary seller. For example if i was walking around campus and i saw a t-shirt or sweartshirt that a few guys were wearing, of a specific product i wouldtake interest in what the t-shirt or sweatshirt said and look further into it. Many young college students today follow peoples trends. Students see something on campus and become intrigued and want to know more about it. The way those companies sponsored these young students was a really smart idea because displaying their product on campus will definitly have a better inpact on their company. They will definitly be bringing in more money. Once students see something that gotta have it also.

"Salespeak" By: Roy F. Fox

In this article "Salespeak" by Roy F. Fox he begins his article with giving a scenario. The scenario consists of facts in our world today that may be a big part of our future life. It may become our next generation. In Fox's scenario he goes on to talk about a specific teen "pepsi" and her individual life. This scenario is just an example of the companies taking over our world today. Fox is just stressing that if we keep supporting these major companies that we are today they are going to begin to buy us out. Then what do we do? In today's world, i can honestly say we have advertisments all around us full of companies etc. They way they make their money is advertising there product for us to buy. And what are we doing? We're giving in and buying them. By Fox naming this character after a product was ust another example of how our world can be taken over by these major companies. I'm not saying that these major companies are bad and we shouldn't buy from them. I'm simply saying we should stop and think before we do anything in our society today because we as one nation aren't necessarily a trustworthy nation so we should watch our back and eachothers backs.

"Meet My 5.000 New Best Pals" By: Janet Kornblum

In Janet Kornblum's essay, "Meet My 5,000 New Best Pals" she talks about how many friends different teenagers have on Facebook and Myspace. Today facebook and myspace are an everyday routine for most teenagers. Facebook was desgined for college students to search and meet new friends from their own personal colleges but over the past few years facebook is used throughout the world with children from all differnt ages. Personally facebook is part of my everyday life, i wake up check facebook before i can start the day. I believe facebook has become a major phenomenon amoung us teenagers today in te United States but can also have its disadvantages too. Since anybody can have access to facebook you have to be careful on who you add and who you don't. In this article, Janet Kornblum discusses how many people have a few amount of freiends or alot and if having a lot means your more popular or what. After reading how different teenagers judge others by how many friends they really bothered me. Because i believe it doesn't matter how many friends someone has; if i don't recognize or know the person and he/she seems shady i won't accept him/her as a friends. I think everybody should start thinking about that because in our society today we are having trouble with pedifilies on the internet and there is a good chance someone could stalk you out on facebook. So just think about the different possibilities to keep you yourself safe and remember the number of friends listed on your profile page doesn't mean how cool or popular you are.

"Supernatural Girls" By: Kathleen Sweeney

In this article, "Supernatural Girls" by Kathleen Sweeney she goes on to explain how women in our society are growing to be more popular as power figures in our society today. Women have always been seen as being in distressed or not being able to fend for themselves. But after reading this article you can see how the media has portrayed women in a more independent and dominant way. Take for example, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Buffy; a blond, head cheerleader who had the power of a ninja really kicked butt throught out the serious. This tv show became the new hit, people from all over the world was watching how Michelle Gellar could kick peoples butt's even men's. Another example, would be Hermoine Granger, who was the main women character of Harry Potter's books and movies. Harry Potter became an all time hit once out in the theatres involving Hermoine who was the brains of the operation. Hermoine was Harry's best girl friend who always knew how to get Harry and Ron (both boys) out of trouble. She was unique character because she was a women dominating over the men. Throught out the centuries we as a society began to look at women in a whle new perspective. Today there are many women starring in movies, tv shows, etc. who are trully kicking some butt. Thats a great impression we can set for us today, to show men that we don't mess around.
